- Bill Gates believes that the development of Generative AI, specifically the GPT series by OpenAI, has reached its peak and does not expect GPT-5 to surpass its predecessor, GPT-4, in performance.
- Despite his view on the plateauing of GPT technology, Gates predicts that AI will become more accurate and cost-effective in the next 2-5 years, leading to the creation of new applications, particularly benefiting developing nations in areas like health advice.
- Gates also discusses the high costs associated with training large AI models, the potential of AI in healthcare, particularly in accelerating the development of drugs and vaccines, and the importance of understanding AI's "black box" for future advancements.
